Whole Wheat Pizza Crust

Whole Wheat Pizza Crust 1 teaspoon sugar 1 1/2 cups warm water 1 Tablespoon active dry yeast 1 Tablespoon olive oil 1 teaspoon salt 2 cups whole wheat flour 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour In a large bowl, dissolve sugar in warm water. Sprinkle yeast over the top and let stand for about 10 minutes, until foamy. Stir in the olive oil and salt into the yeast mixture, then mix in the whole wheat flour and 1 cup of the all-purpose flour until dough starts to come together. Tip dough out onto a surface floured with the remaining flour and knead until all of the flour has been incorporated, and the ball of dough becomes smooth, about 10 minutes. Place dough in a bowl that has been sprayed with non-stick spray and lightly spray dough as well. Cover loosely with a towel and allow to rise until doubled, about 1 hour. When the dough is doubled, you can divide into 2 for 2 thin crust or leave as is for a thick crust and place on a pizza pan, stone, or cookie sheet that has been greased with cooking spray and roll out the dough to the desired thickness and shape. Top with your favorite sauce, toppings, cheese, etc. - be creative! Bake in at 375 for about 15-18 minutes, depending on thickness and amount of toppings. The crust should start to appear golden and the cheese should be melted.
