Shepherds Pie
Shepherds Pie
1 lbs hamburger (or ground pork)
1 cup of shredded cheese
1 cup of veggies(carrots, corn, peas)
(or 1 can of corn drained)
1 medium onion chopped
1 can mushroom soup
6-8 medium peeled russet potatoes
Parsley flakes
1-2 tbl of butter/or margarine
Large casserole dish
Turn oven on to 350° F
Peel, cut, and boil your potatoes until thoroughly cooked. Drain well, and then use a mixer or masher and make your mashed potatoes. DON’T add any milk or your finished product will not brown, just use the butter/margarine. Try to make your potatoes as whipped as you can without any lumps in it. Meanwhile brown your hamburger (or ground pork) and onions together in a fry pan. Mix together the mixed veggies (or can drained corn) together with your mushroom soup, then add the browned hamburger (or ground pork) to the mixture and mix together well. Spread the shredded cheese on top of your mixture and press firmly down to pack your mixture down. Top your cheese off with your whipped/mashed potatoes. You can spread a little bit of melted butter/margarine on the top of your potatoes, but then spread some parsley flakes over the top. Put in the oven for about 30-45 mins. (might want to make sure you have a baking sheet under the casserole dish so you don't make a mess in your oven with the juices bubbling over.) Take out and cool for 5 minutes. Serve and enjoy.
