Early American Brown Bread
2 cups whole wheat flour
¾ cup white flour
2 tsp baking soda...
1 cup packed brown sugar
½ tsp salt
2 cups milk
4 tsp. vinegar
In large bowl, mix wheat flour, white flour, brown sugar, soda and salt. In a small bowl, combine milk and vinegar. Let stand ten minutes. Stir in milk mix gradually into flour mix until well blended. Spoon the batter into greased loaf pan. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Cover and Bake for about 1 hour.
