Old Fashioned Beer Bread

Old Fashioned Beer Bread 2 1/2 - cups self rising flour (measured then sifted) 1/4 - cup sugar 1 - 12 oz can of beer (I use bud light) 1/2 - cup (1 stick) of butter, melted and divided Preheat oven to 350 degrees and spray a standard size loaf pan with non-stick spray. In a large bowl add the self-rising flour, sugar and beer. Stir until combined. Pour and spread the mixture into the prepared loaf pan. Pour half of the melted butter over the top of the bread. Place the loaf pan on the center rack of the oven and bake for 45 minutes or until golden brown and when a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean when tested. Remove bread from oven, make a slight slit down the top of bread and brush the remaining melted butter over the top. Bake bread for an additional 5- 10 minutes. Remove from oven and cool in loaf pan for 10 minutes, then remove to wire rack or plate and cool completely. Note: This bread is wonderful the next day, spread on some butter and sprinkle cinnamon sugar and top and toast in your toaster oven yum!
