Green Bean Casserole with Bacon & Cheese

Green Bean Casserole with Bacon & Cheese 12 oz. pkg. frozen french style green beans 2 C. chicken broth water Place the beans in a pot, add in the broth and enough water to cover the beans. Bring to a boil and cook till tender, about 20-25 minutes. Meanwhile... 3 strips bacon, cooked and crumbled (reserve the grease) 1 small onion, chopped 1/2 C. chopped mushrooms 10.5 oz. can cream of mushroom soup 1 C. shredded sharp cheddar cheese 1 tsp. soy sauce 1/4 tsp. garlic powder 1/2 tsp. black pepper 2.8 oz. can french fried onions In a heated skillet, add 1 T. of the bacon grease and saute the onions and mushrooms till tender, about 5-6 minutes. Once the beans are done, drain and return them to the pot. Add in the onions/mushrooms, soup, cheese, soy sauce, seasonings, crumbled bacon and 1/2 of the french fried onions. Stir well to combine. Pour into a 2 quart baking dish and bake in a 350 degree oven for 25 minutes, remove and top with remaining french fried onions. Return to the oven for 10 minutes.
