Apple Jacks
1 cup dark brown sugar, packed
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg
1 tsp. each - nutmeg and cinnamon
1 1/2 cup sifted flour
1 cup chopped, unpeeled apples
Cream together sugar and shortening. Beat in the egg. Sift together dry
ingredients and add to the moist ingredients, beating until well blended.
Stir in the apples. Drop in the shape of balls on greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375 degrees for 12-15 minutes
