Fried Cornbread
Fried Cornbread
2 1/2 C flour
3/4 T. fresh baker's yeast
1 tsp salt or fine salt
In a bowl, pour the flour, place the salt on one side and the diluted yeast on the other, diluted in a little lukewarm water.
Mix, and add water until the dough comes off the bowl. Let the dough rise for 1 hour.
Degass and divide the dough into 6 identical balls. Flour and flatten them to give them this slightly rounded shape. Leave to rise for another 20 minutes.
In a hot pan, add a little oil and cook the breads on each side. Watch the cooking, it cooks very quickly.
