Cookies
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup soft butter
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 teaspoons rum extract
1 egg
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon nutmeg
Frosting
2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
3 tablespoons butter
2-3 tablespoons half & half
1 teaspoon rum extract
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Heat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients, except flour and nutmeg. Beat on medium until fluffy. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup. Stir in flour and nutmeg; mix well. Divide into 6 parts. Shape each part into a rope 1/2-inch diameter on a lightly floured surface. Cut into 3” lengths. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 12-15 minutes until lightly browned. Cool. Make frosting and spread on cooled cookies. Mark frosting with a fork tine. Sprinkle with nutmeg. Makes 42-48 cookies
Frosting: Mix all ingredients with mixer until smooth.
