Caramel Pie
Caramel Pie
1 c. sugar
1 c. milk
2 Tbsp. all purpose flour
4 egg yolks
2 Tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. sugar
4 egg whites
1/3 c. sugar
1 pie crust baked
In a saucepan over low heat combine flour, 1 cup sugar, milk, egg yolks, butter and vanilla heat until warm remove from heat and set aside.
In a iron skillet melt 1/2 cup sugar over low heat until golden brown.
Add egg mixture whisking constantly until smooth.
Cook until thick. Pour into pie crust.
In a mixing bowl add egg whites beat until frothy.
Add sugar while beating and beat until stiff.
Spoon on top of pie.
Bake at 350 until golden brown.
Allow pie to cool completely before serving.
Serve w/ Whip cream.
