Apple Crisp Cake
Apple Crisp Cake
2 C. water
4 T. cornstarch
1/2 C. sugar
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
6 med. apples (any variety is fine) peeled and thinly sliced
In a med. skillet, whisk together the water, cornstarch, sugar and cinnamon. Bring to a boil and reduce to medium. Add in the apples and cook for 20 minutes, stirring often. Remove from the heat and let cool for 15 minutes.
1, 15.25 oz. box yellow cake mix
1 C. butter, melted
1/4 C. brown sugar
nuts if desired
Pour the pie filling into the bottom of a lightly buttered 9x13 pan. Open the cake mix and sprinkle the dry mix all over the apples. Pour the melted butter over the cake mix and sprinkle with the brown sugar. Top with nuts if using. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 50 minutes.
