FRIED OYSTERS & DIPPING SAUCE
1 Large Bowl
2 cups milk
2 large eggs and with a whisk beat the eggs up into the milk very well.
You will also need another large bowl that you want to add the below to.
2 Cups of Plain Flour ( Also called All Purpose Flour )
1 Cup of Self Rising Yellow Cornmeal.
1 Teaspoon Salt
1 Teaspoon Black Pepper
1 Teaspoon Fine Ground Cayenne Pepper
Mix all 5 ingredients together well.
Now you want to put your oysters a few at a time into the milk and egg mixture. Then put them a few at a time into the bowl of dry ingredients and shake the bowl. Then put them back into the milk and egg mixture and back into the dry mixture. Place your breaded oysters onto a tray or plate and refrigerate them for a mininum of 1 hour. You want your oil at 350 degrees and then you want to fry your oysters a few at a time. Drain your oysters well on paper towels and serve at once with our oyster dipping sauce.
Oyster Dipping Sauce
2 Cups Ketchup
1/4 Cup of Mayonaise
1 Level Teaspoon of Fine Ground Cayenne Pepper
1 Teaspoon Lemon Juice
Mix together very well with a wire whisk or do it in a blender. This is a very simple dipping sauce but it is oh so good. Refrigerate a minimum of 2 hours before serving with your Fried Oysters.
