Honey-Baked Apples
3 apples -- peeled and cored
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/2 cup honey
3/4 cup cranberries
1/4 cup chopped walnuts
1/4 cup fresh bread crumbs
1 tablespoon butter or margarine -- melted
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 Dash salt
1 Dash ground ginger
1 Dash ground nutmeg
Halve 2 apples lengthwise; brush with lemon juice. Place apples cut-side
down in oiled baking dish and brush with honey. Bake, covered, at 400ºF 15
minutes. Chop remaining apple; toss with remaining ingredients. Turn
apples
over and mound apple mixture on center of cut apple halves. Bake 10
minutes
more or until topping browns. Serve with ice cream for dessert or with
sausage for breakfast or brunch.
