Wonderful Smell of Christmas
CHRISTMAS BREW (Caution: This is NOT for consumption! It just makes
your house smell wonderful.) 1 quart pineapple juice 1 quart apple cider 1
quart water 4 pieces ginger 3 (3-inch) cinnamon sticks 16 whole cloves 1
teaspoon allspice 3 or 4 teaspoons pickling spices Mix all ingredients in
a large kettle or pot and bring to a full boil. After allowing brew to boil
for several minutes, reduce heat to the lowest temperature where you can
still maintain a gentle simmer. Stir in additional water occasionally as
the liquids evaporate. Assuming you don't leave this on the stove for
hours on end, you'll be able to reheat it several times with good results.
(At least, that's been my experience with other brews of this type.) When
it no longer smells like Christmas, you'll know it's time to discard it and
make a new batch.
