FUNNEL CAKE FRIES
Funnel Cake Batter (see note)
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 large eggs
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla
Frying and Serving
3 cups vegetable oil
powdered sugar, optional
caramel sauce, optional
marshmallow fluff, optional
Funnel Cake Batter
In a medium bowl, mix flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl.
In another medium bowl, mix eggs, sugar, milk and vanilla until frothy.
Add in flour mixture and blend until smooth.
Frying and Serving
Add oil to a medium saucepan or deep fryer and heat to 350°F. Set aside a wire rack or a plate lined with paper towel.
Add batter to squeeze bottle or pastry bag. Pipe the batter in long lines into hot oil and fry 30-60 seconds until golden.
Using a slotted spoon, remove the fries to prepared plate or rack.
Dust with optional powdered sugar and serve with optional dip(s). Enjoy!
Notes
If you don't want to make homemade batter, use a store-bought funnel cake mix instead and follow the package instructions.
