Baked Spaghetti
Baked Spaghetti
1 lb spaghetti
1 lb italian turkey sausage
24 oz jar pasta sauce
1 tsp extra virgin olive oil
1 onion, chopped
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 pint half & half
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp pepper
4 oz cream cheese
1 cup shredded parmesan cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Preheat oven to 350
Spray a 9x11 casserole dish with nonstick spray, set aside
Cook spaghetti, according to package directions to al dente, drain and return to same pot you cooked it in
In a large skillet brown sausage, crumbling it as it cooks, drain sausage and place in a large bowl
Stir together pasta sauce and cooked sausage, set aside
In a saucepan heat olive oil over medium heat
Add in chopped onion and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes
Add in garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes
Pour in half & half, salt & pepper and bring to a boil
Stir in cream cheese until it is melted and well combined
Remove from heat and stir in parmesan cheese, until melted
Pour cheese sauce into pan with cooked noodles and toss to combine
Place 2 cups pasta sauce & sausage in the bottom of the prepared pan
Pour noodles with cheese sauce into pan
Pour remaining pasta sauce over noodles and spread out over noodles
Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over top and cover pan with aluminum foil
Bake for 45 minutes with foil, and then remove foil & cook for an additional 15 minutes, or until cheese is browned
Remove and let sit for 10-15 minutes before cutting
