Cheesy Baked Spaghetti
Cheesy Baked Spaghetti
8 ounces uncooked spaghetti, broken
1 egg
1/2 c milk
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 lb ground beef
1/2 lb bulk Italian or pork sausage
1 onion, chopped
1/4 c chopped green pepper
1 jar (14 oz) spaghetti sauce
1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
1 to 2 c shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
Cook spaghetti according to directions; drain and set aside.
Mix together milk, egg and salt. Add in cooked spaghetti. Place in the bottom of a 9x9 prepared baking dish.
Saute ground beef and pork until no longer pink. Drain, and set aside.
In the same pan, saute onions and chopped green pepper until tender. Add in spaghetti sauce, ground beef and sausage and tomato sauce. Heat through. Add in 1/2 the mozzarella cheese. Stir until melted.
Spoon tomato/meat mixture over spaghetti layer. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes, uncovered.
Sprinkle remaining cheese and continue to bake for another 10 -15 minutes.
