Scalloped Potatoes
Scalloped Potatoes
Olive oil spray
7 medium peeled potatoes, sliced 1/8-inch thick (2 lbs 4 oz, peeled)
2 tbsp. 1 tbsp light butter, melted
salt and fresh pepper to taste
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
3 oz shredded reduced fat cheddar cheese , (3/4 cup)
1 cup of fat-free milk
1 bay leaf
pinch of freshly grated nutmeg
2 tbsp. 1 tsp thyme
Preheat the oven to 425 ° F.
Spray an 11 7 inch baking plate with cooking spray.
In a large bowl, combine the potatoes/butter/ salt/garlic powder & freshly cracked pepper.
Organize half of the potato slices in the baking dish; top with 1/4 cup cheese. Add the rest potatoes.
In a little saucepan, bring the milk, thyme, bay leaf & nutmeg to a boil; pour over the potatoes.
Top with rest cheese & cook, uncovered, for 51 minutes
