Old Fashioned Beer Bread
3 - cups self rising flour (measured then sifted)
1/4 - cup sugar
1 - 12 oz can of beer (do not use a dark beer)
1/4 of stick of butter, melted
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix all the ingredients together. Grease and flour a loaf pan.
Spread mixture into the pan, using a brush or your fingers smooth out the top of the loaf with melted butter. Bake for 30-40 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove bread from oven, make a slight slit down the top of bread and brush ¼ stick of melted butter on top and bake an additional 10 minutes.
Remove from oven and cool in loaf pan for 10 minutes, then remove to wire rack or plate and cool completely.
Note: This bread is wonderful the next day, spread on some butter and sprinkle cinnamon sugar and top and toast in your toaster oven umm.
