Nannies Fried Potatoes

Nannies Fried Potatoes 4 T. butter (not margarine) 2 T. lard 4 large potatoes (I used russet) 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. pepper Peel the potatoes and cut up into bite size pieces, place in a bowl and season with the salt and pepper, toss to coat. Heat the butter and the lard over med. high heat in a skillet. Once the butter has melted, add in the potatoes and spread out in the pan. Cook, without turning for 10 minutes. Using a spatula, turn the potatoes in the skillet and cook for an additional 15 minutes, turning occasionally until golden brown and tender. Remove to a paper towel lined plate.
