Sloppy Joe Pasta Skillet
Sloppy Joe Pasta Skillet
1 - lb lean ground beef or ground turkey, browned
1 - small onion, chopped
1/2 - cup chopped green pepper
salt and pepper, to taste
onion powder, to taste
garlic powder, to taste
1 - (15 oz) can Manwich Sloppy Joe sauce
1 - (14.5 oz) can fire roasted tomatoes or fire roasted tomatoes with garlic, undrained
1 - cup beef broth
2 - teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
2 - tablespoon barbecue sauce
10 - ounces Rotini pasta, cooked (I prefer Barilla Pronto)
1/2 - cup shredded cheddar cheese, optional
In a 10-12 inch skillet, cook the ground beef or turkey, onion and green peppers over medium high heat, breaking the meat up as it cooks. Cook until meat is no longer pink.
Boil the Rotini pasta according to package directions until al dente (about 5-7) minutes. Drain pasta.
Drain off any grease from the meat. Season the meat with salt, pepper, onion powder and garlic powder to taste.
Add the Sloppy Joe sauce, fire roasted tomatoes, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce and barbecue sauce. Stir to combine.
Bring the mixture to a boil over medium high heat, then reduce heat and simmer the mixture for 10 -15 minutes.
Add the drained pasta and stir to combine. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes, so the pasta is heated through.
Sprinkle with cheese (optional) and serve.
