Fluffernutter Popcorn Balls
Fluffernutter Popcorn Balls
8 cups popped popcorn
6 cups miniature marshmallows
2 Tablespoons butter
1 cup peanut butter chips
1 Tablespoon shortening
2 teaspoons sea salt
1 cups miniature M&M’s
In a large saucepan, combine the butter and 4 cups of marshmallows. Heat over low/medium heat until melted and creamy. Set aside for a minute.
In a microwave safe bowl, combine the peanut butter chips and the shortening. Heat for 30 seconds and stir. Repeat until melted.
Place the popcorn in a large bowl. Pour the melted marshmallow over the popcorn and stir. Add the melted peanut butter chips and stir again.
Toss in the M&M’s, salt, and the extra 2 cups of marshmallows and stir really well. Let cool a few minutes.
Squeeze handfuls into large balls and set on a baking tray. Garnish with popsicle sticks, washi tape, and cupcake liners. Keep covered.
Notes
Note: I pressed my popcorn into a 9×13 pan while it was warm. After it was chilled, I cut it into squares and then made each square into a ball.
