Air Fryer Fried Chicken Legs
Air Fryer Fried Chicken Legs
4 chicken legs, skin on
1/2 C. dill pickle juice
3/4 C. all purpose flour
1 tsp. cajun seasoning (I use slap ya mama)
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/8 tsp. celery seed
1 large egg
1/4 C. of the reserved pickle juice
butter flavored cooking spray
Place the chicken legs in a ziploc bag and add the pickle juice. Seal and place in the fridge for a minimum of 1 hour. Remove the chicken from the fridge 20 minutes prior to cooking and set it on the counter. Mix the flour and seasonings in a bowl, set aside. Remove the chicken from the bag and put on a plate to pat dry. Crack the egg in a bowl and add 1/4 C. pickle juice from the bag, whisk well. Take each leg and dredge in the flour then in the egg and then back in the flour and place on a dry plate. Use a paper towel and wipe a little vegetable oil over the basket of your air fryer and preheat it for 5 minutes at 380 degrees. Pick up each leg by the tip and spray it all over with the cooking spray and place in the basket. Cook the chicken for 25 minutes at 380 degrees, turning the legs half way through the cooking time.
