Red Hot Fried Apples
3 large sweet apples
3 T. butter
1/4 C. packed light brown sugar
1 T. white sugar
2 T. red hots cinnamon candy
pinch of salt
Peel and slice the apples, set aside. Melt the butter in a skillet over med. high heat. Add the apples, stir to coat in the butter and fry for 5 minutes, stirring often. Lower the heat to med. low and stir in both sugars and combine well. Stir in the red hots and salt. Allow them to cook for 12-15 minutes or to your desired tenderness, stirring often as the candies melt to coat the apples.
