Air Fryer Whole Roasted Chicken
5 lb. whole chicken, giblets removed from cavity (freeze or discard), pat dry
1 whole head garlic, the top sliced off, no need to peel
3 T. butter, melted
1/2 tsp. oregano
1/2 tsp. basil
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. ground turmeric
1/4 tsp. smoked paprika
Set your chicken out on the counter 30 minutes prior to roasting. Place the head of garlic inside the cavity. Mix together the remaining ingredients and brush over the entire chicken. Spray your air fryer basket well with cooking spray. Place the chicken in the basket, breast side down. Set the temp. to 390 degrees and set time to 60 minutes. After 30 minutes, remove the basket and carefully turn the chicken over, continue to cook the remaining 30 minutes. Check to make sure a meat thermometer inserted into the thigh area reads 165 degrees. If not, return to the air fryer for 3-5 minutes. Let rest 5-10 minutes before slicing.
