Hearty Italian Pasta Bake

Hearty Italian Pasta Bake 6 oz. cavatappi pasta (you can use any kind you like for this) 1 lb. ground beef 1/2 lb. link style Italian sausage, sliced about 1/4" thick 1 C. chopped pepperoni 1 med. onion, chopped 1/2 red bell pepper, chopped 16 oz. tomato sauce 10 oz. can diced tomatoes with green chilies 1 T. italian seasoning 1 tsp. garlic powder 1 tsp. dried basil 1/4 C. grated parmesan cheese 3 C. shredded mozzarella cheese Bring a pot of water to a boil and cook the pasta according to pkg. directions. Meanwhile, In a large skillet over med. high heat cook the ground beef and the sausage. Once browned and cooked through, drain off the grease and add in the pepperoni, onion and bell pepper. Cook for 3-4 minutes until the onion and peppers start to get tender. Stir in the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes (with juice), seasonings and parmesan cheese. Remove from heat and stir in the drained pasta. Light spray a 2.5 quart baking dish with cooking spray. Pour half of the pasta/meat mixture in the dish, top with half of the cheese then add the remaining pasta/meat mixture. Top with the remaining cheese and place in a 350 degree oven for 20-25 minutes or until the cheese is browned and bubbly.
