Orange Bread

Orange Bread DRY INGREDIENTS: 2 3/4 c flour 1/2 tsp baking soda 1/2 c wheat germ 3 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp salt WET INGREDIENTS: 1/2 c shortening 1/2 c orange peel (zest) 1 c sugar 2 eggs NEXT: 1 c fresh squeezed orange juice Mix the dry ingredients together in a bowl. Wash the oranges, zest the peel, and get 1 cup of fresh juice from the oranges. Cream together the sugar, shortening and orange rind. Then add the eggs to mix thoroughly. Blend in dry ingredients alternating with orange juice. Beat together until thorough moistened and blended. ***** IMPORTANT****** Grease the baking pans well! Remove from pans immediately and cool. Best served warm with real butter!
