EASY 3 ingredients Biscuits
EASY 3 ingredients Biscuits
3 cups Self rising flour
1/2 cup Crisco oil
1/2-3/4 cups milk
Heat oven to 400°
Just mix together lightly & form into a ball...handpress or roll ball to 1/2-3/4" then roll & fold 5 times, pressing/rolling to 1/2-3/4" each time... the more times you fold the more layers there will be.
You may need to try variations on the amount of milk since humidity can cause variations in the absorption...too little milk will make the biscuits dry, but still just enough to shape into ball.
Cut into biscuits & place touching each other in pan....bake til brown on tops... I got mine a tad too brown, so check often
IF USING ALL PURPOSE FLOUR ::::
For every cup of self -rising flour called for in your recipe, measure out 1 level cup all-purpose flour. Add 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Whisk to combine.
IF USING YOGURT INSTEAD OF MILK ::
a member stated, ""I have used thinned yogurt both with whole milk and water. The milk is a little heavier, the water makes a thinner dough. Up to half and half with milk. Up to about 1/3 with water. Just what has worked for me in a pinch.""
You could also try this with heavy whipping cream or buttermilk
& ... you could try it 2 other different ways, instead of oil,,,try one with frozen shredded butter,,,,& one with melted butter
