Hot Fudge Sundae Nachos

Hot Fudge Sundae Nachos The base is crushed sugar cones—which we kept large enough so that people could get a decent-sized bite. (We tried to keep the bottom half of the cone intact—that little mini cone makes the perfect vessel for scooping everything up.) Also worth noting: go with sugar cones here. Waffle cones don't break in the same way, and won't be able to hold onto toppings. Next, we drizzled store-bought, jarred hot fudge—unlike your usual sundae. We thought a layer of hot fudge directly on the cones would hold them together in a delicious way, and give people more access to chocolate. Never a bad thing. Then came the vanilla ice cream. Consider our tactic: we pre-scooped the ice cream, put it on a baking sheet, then froze the individual scoops before we placed them on the nachos. It makes for a less messy eating experience (trust us—the ice cream doesn't get as melted as quickly). But it also allows you to pre-portion the nachos for your crowd—assume one scoop per person. The ice cream gets a heavy dose of more hot fudge, mini M&Ms, whipped cream and sprinkles. Serve the nachos with small dishes on the side so that people can serve themselves. Or don't. We're pretty sure we could handle this thing on our own.
