Fresh Strawberry Syrup
1/4 cup sugar
2 teaspoons cornstarch
Dash salt
2 cups chopped fresh strawberries
1/2 cup water
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
In a small saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch and salt. Stir in strawberries, water and lemon juice until blended. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 2-3 minutes or until thickened and strawberries are tender.
