Pinto Beans with Ground Beef
Pinto Beans with Ground Beef
1 lb Dry Pinto Beans
1 lb Ground beef
1 Small can tomato sauce
Salt, Pepper, and a little Garlic Salt to taste
(you can pour in a little coke or dr. pepper if you tend to get gassy,
You can soak your beans over night if you want to, but I never do
Sort beans to make sure there are no rocks or dirt in the bag.
Rinse Beans
Put in a Big (dutch oven type) Pot
Add some Salt, pepper, and garlic salt
Cover in water (I usually add enough water so its not quiet at the top of the pot, but covers the beans and at least an inch over them)
Cook in Medium High for about 3 hours.**** You will HAVE to watch them and Add more water when the beans start to soak it up. I just keep a big cup of water sitting near the stove****
When beans are pretty much done and tender, Add the ground beef (raw) in pieces. Add In the small can of tomato sauce. Let cook until Ground beef is done. Add more salt and pepper if you like.
This goes great just in a bowl with some cornbread and a green onion
Its also great for Nachos
You can even Make a beef and Bean Burritto...so many things you can use this with.
