Cookie Dough Truffles

Cookie Dough Truffles

Now you can safely eat cookie dough since there are no eggs in this recipe!
This treat is very addictive.

1 cup butter, softened
1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups flour
1 tablespoon water
6 ounces mini semisweet chocolate chips

Cream butter and sugar. Add remaining ingredients. Mix well. Form dough into
small walnut-sized balls. Refrigerate.

Variations: Melt 12 ounces semisweet chocolate. Dip truffles in chocolate.
Place on foil-lined cookie sheet until set.

Or cream 3/4 cup peanut butter, 3/4 cup butter and brown sugar. Continue
with recipe as written.

Instead of making truffles, press dough into an 8-inch square pan sprayed
with nonstick spray. Top with ganache made by warming 1/4 cup cream and 2
tablespoons butter in a pan until it just simmers, then adding 2/3 cup
chocolate chips and stirring until melted. Pour over dough in pan.
Refrigerate until set. Cut into small squares
